Core work management
The operational engine: raising, assigning, executing and closing work orders across assets and sites. Work orders originate from reported issues, inspections, schedules and asset condition triggers, then move through to verified completion.
| Work order | Asset | Priority | Status | Assigned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WO-10428 | HVAC plant | High | In progress | J. Nguyen |
| WO-10431 | Lift 3 | Medium | Assigned | Contractor |
| WO-10435 | Fire panel | High | Open | Unassigned |
| WO-10440 | Roof access | Low | In review | S. Patel |
| WO-10442 | Facade bay 4 | Medium | Completed | A. Lee |
Work order register
Central, audit-tracked repository with unique numbering, categories, priority and multi-site support.
Work order creation
Eight creation sources including reported issues, inspections, schedules and condition triggers.
Work assignment
Assign to teams, contractors or individuals with workload balancing and escalation.
Work execution
Labour and material tracking, site notes, and completion evidence capture.
Workflow & automation
Configurable multi-stage processes move work through approval and delivery, with the CAMS workflow engine automating routine actions and recurring schedules.
- Configurable workflow stages and stage dependencies
- Approval processes and multi-stage reviews
- Parallel workflows and logic gate controls
- Escalation paths and automated notifications
- Scheduled preventive and compliance programmes
- SLA breach and completion verification automation
SLA & service performance
Service delivery is monitored against defined response and rectification targets, with overdue tracking, escalation rules and compliance reporting. SLA performance is the input to contractual abatement.
- Response and completion time tracking
- Configurable escalation rules
- Overdue monitoring and alerts
- SLA performance dashboards
- Automated breach notifications
- Compliance reporting
Abatement
For PPP and FM contracts, CAMS calculates contractual payment abatement directly from SLA and KPI performance. Breaches are detected, weighted by criticality and affected area, and converted to payment deductions with a full audit trail.
Worked example. Illustrative figures for a single billing period.
| Service event | Target | Actual | Status | Weighting | Abatement |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Critical fault response | 4 hrs | 7.5 hrs | Breach | High ×1.5 | $1,200 |
| Planned maintenance completion | 30 days | 34 days | Breach | Medium ×1.0 | $400 |
| Functional availability, Zone A | 99.5% | 98.9% | Breach | Area ×2.0 | $2,100 |
| Statutory compliance task | Due | On time | Met | n/a | $0 |
| Total abatement for period | $3,700 | ||||
- SLA and KPI breach detection
- Criticality and affected-area weighting
- Configurable abatement rules per contract
- Automated deduction calculation
- Abatement reporting and audit trail
- Dispute-ready calculation evidence
Contractor management
External contractors are engaged, allocated work, and monitored through portals that capture progress, completion evidence and performance against compliance requirements.
| Contractor | Open jobs | On time | Compliance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Mechanical | 6 | 92% | Compliant |
| BuildSafe Pty | 3 | 88% | Insurance expiring |
| CoolAir Services | 4 | 97% | Compliant |
| Vertex Electrical | 2 | 90% | Compliant |
- Contractor allocation and portals
- Progress reporting and completion submissions
- Evidence uploads
- Performance tracking and history
- Compliance monitoring
- Acceptance and rejection workflows
Mobile field execution
Field technicians execute work through the CAMS mobile application, online or offline. Assets are scanned, evidence is captured on site, and records synchronise on reconnect.
- Assigned work order visibility
- QR, RFID and barcode asset scanning
- Photo, signature and completion evidence capture
- GPS location recording
- Offline capture with synchronisation on reconnect
Cost management
Operational expenditure is tracked against work orders and assets, covering labour, contractor, material and equipment cost, with budget monitoring and cost summaries.
- Labour cost tracking
- Contractor cost tracking
- Material and equipment cost tracking
- Budget monitoring
- Work order cost summaries
- Asset cost allocation
Predictive & risk intelligence
The layer above a standard CMMS. CAMS forecasts failure from research-based deterioration curves, ranks work by consequence of failure and criticality, and drives lifecycle cost forecasts from the same model. Accuracy improves as field data accumulates.
Predictive deterioration modelling
Almost 1,000 asset-specific curves forecast failure probability and remaining useful life.
Self-learning prediction
Accuracy improves over time through a field data feedback loop.
Risk-based prioritisation
Work ranked by consequence of failure and asset criticality.
Lifecycle cost forecasting
Renewal and capital expenditure forecasts from the deterioration model.
Integrations
Work order management links to the wider CAMS platform so maintenance activity, asset performance, inventory consumption and lifecycle management sit within one connected environment.
